The Meaning and Vision of Via Mandala

Via Mandala is devoted to developing the knowledge, skills, and passion of all who are involved in the education enterprise. Its work is guided by the higher purpose of quality learning for all — excellence with equity.

The mandala which represents the company and its work displays a diverse collection of people connected by their outreaching hands. Education is first-and-foremost a human enterprise. The success and sustainability of any human enterprise, we know, are a direct result of its interpersonal relationships.

The diverse yet connected people of the mandala are set before a compass rose, suggesting exploration and journey. The center of the mandala appears as a star, the guiding and unifying center. The points of the compass reflect the many origins from which personal exploration and learning may begin. The stars and the compass have served navigators on all sorts of journeys for centuries. The yellow circle, suggestive of light, captures the spirit of inquiry and learning: to enlighten. 

To touch any part of the mandala is to affect the whole, for its system is integrated. So it is with education, in which many parts work together integrally to generate learning. To touch any part is to affect the whole. This is the work of Via Mandala, to find and touch the parts which will build capacity for excellence with equity.
